Materials Engineer
Position Description: Materials Engineer to join our team!
To qualify for this technically challenging position you must possess a PhD in Materials Engineering and a minimum of 5 years experience that includes familiarity with Engineered Polymer Materials.
Resodyn Corporation has developed an advanced, novel thermal spray platform technology that has a broad range of applications, which includes spray coating thermosets, thermoplastics, UV curable polymer powders, structural coatings, composites, foams, etc.
We are working with various clients on application of the technology for a broad range of applications that include Polymer Matrix Composites (PMC), Metal Matrix Composites (MMC), Ceramic Matrix Composites (CMC), High performance polymers, Multi-Functional Materials (nano-materials used to modify properties and characteristics of a base material), and Polymer adhesion. These will include functionally graded coatings, structural coatings, near-net-shape, foams, protective coatings, high temperature coatings, etc. The successful candidate should be cognizant of material property characterization requirements and procedures. Areas of technical responsibilities will include material selection, material strength characterization, coating process development and coating composition optimization.
The coating application markets will include industrial, aerospace, and military. The successful candidate will work closely with coating developers and be knowledgeable of customer requirements for new applications.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills are necessary. The candidate will be responsible to write proposals, give presentations and communicate well between technical, marketing and business functions. Must be a US citizen. An enthusiasm for working in a diverse, demanding and exciting technology environment is crucial. Strong work ethic and team player attributes are paramount. Engineering degree from an ABET accredited college is required.
